Mgr. John Furnival – 40th Anniversary of Ordination

Mgr. John celebrated his Ruby Jubilee at St. Helen’s Church with Holy Mass on Saturday 9th July 2016, at 12 noon,  followed by a Buffet in the Parish Centre.  Fr. Martin Cadell and Fr. John Cullen concelebrated Mass with Mgr. John, assisted by Deacon Terry Rimmer, Deacon Tony Johnson and Deacon Ted Douglas.   Mgr. John will continue as Parish Priest of SS Peter and Paul’s Church, but will no longer be Parish Priest of St. Helen’s.  Fr. Martin Cadell, Parish Priest of St. Joseph’s Church, Blundellsands, will also become Parish Priest of St. Helen’s Church.  Parishioners were able to express their gratitude to Mgr. John for his service to the Parish and to warmly welcome Fr. Martin as their new Parish Priest.
