The Liturgy of the Word with Children is an established liturgical activity in both parishes. Known as Little Church, our leaders share and discuss God's word with the children, in a way they can understand, in their own welcoming space. The children gather together after the greeting, and the priest sends them out to their place of worship with the leader; it ends with the children returning to the church for the Offertory Procession.  Within Little Church, the children respond to the word with discussion and varied, creative activities.

Little Church at St Joseph’s Church was founded by Margaret Ferrari more than 15 years ago. From small beginnings it has become an important and vibrant part of the parish. The Children’s Liturgy takes place at the beginning of Sunday morning 11.00 am Mass each week, and has a “Tiny Church” section for the under 5's too.

Little Church at St Helen's was established over 25 years ago by Cath Davies. Through the years, there have been many leaders who have all contributed their talents to the thriving team, and the parish has been involved in many fundraising and community activities launched by the team and the children. Little Church takes place within 9.45 am Mass most Sundays of the year, apart from Sunday Children's Masses and during the school Summer holidays.
